We are an all age (3 to 19 years) special school for pupils with complex learning needs. In our happy and busy school children and young people with needs that may include autism, physical or sensory disability and communication difficulties, find a community that is committed to helping them personally.
Each key stage has its own focus and delivers a curriculum and approach suitable to each age range. We welcome children and young people into the school at very many different points and all settle in quickly and get on with the daily business of learning. Our most recent Ofsted inspection commented that ‘Pupils gain the essential basic skills of communication and numeracy well. Their personal and social development is outstanding.’ Education is good in all aspects and outstanding in behavior and safety.
All pupils enter Granta with a statement of special educational needs. Admissions are via the local authority. Further details are available from the school.
Granta is very much a community school although most of our pupils travel in from across Cambridgeshire and also from Suffolk and Essex. We are committed to being an effective part of the CASSA alliance and working in partnership to help all pupils achieve the most they can.
